The foxhole will automatically engage enemies if connected to a [[Tunnel Network]]. You can tell if a foxhole is connected to a network by the color of its flag. It will be a solid faction color if it is connected to an active tunnel network and washed out/white when it is disconnected. Be aware that it will still have AI control for ten minutes after being disconnected from the network. Pay attention to the faction logo on the flag to identify friendly vs. enemy foxholes!

Though it is somewhat resistant to bullets, it can be destroyed by concentrated rifle fire or sustained fire from a machine gun. It takes very little damage from [[Frag Grenade|Frag Grenades]], so using them against it is inadvisable. It is very vulnerable to explosives.

Description

Template:Building The Manned Foxhole is a cheap, early-stage defensive building. Namesake of the game, Foxholes are backbone of map control and the primary, first-step measure of ensuring security of logistic routes, material sources and urban areas. Their primary role is aggressive area denial against individuals and small groups of hostile players seeking to exploit otherwise undefended landmarks. Low cost and quick deployment also makes Foxholes an important tool in prolonged engagements on any battlefront.

Active Foxhole is manned by a single Rifleman. While it has a fairly long range, it does not lead the shots to target movements, which allows players to distract it continuously without being hit, especially while Sprinting. However, it will easily kill anyone careless enough to get up close or moving directly towards it. Manned Foxhole will automatically engage enemies if connected to a Tunnel Network and will keep firing at the current target until it is slain or left its firing range.

Though it is somewhat resistant to bullets, Foxhole can be destroyed by concentrated or sustained fire from any firearms. It takes very little damage from Frag Grenades, so using them against it is inadvisable, however it is very vulnerable to explosives. It takes 4 HE grenades or 2 direct Mortar hits to destroy

a pristine Manned Foxhole.

Similar to all other defensive structures manned by NPCs, Foxholes connected to a Tunnel Network will have a colored flag of its faction. Built away or disconnected from the Tunnel Network, the flag will immediately turn white with only the faction symbol remaining to identify its allegiance, although it will remain active for 10 minutes thereafter.

A single player may enter the Foxhole and fire from it while being protected from harm. The only item that can damage players inside of this structure is the Green Ash grenade. Entering a Foxhole will also give players increased weapon accuracy/stability, but will limit their vertical firing angle as if they're being prone. If the foxhole is destroyed while the player is inside, the player will be killed. Players can still enter and use foxhole if it is not connected to a Tunnel Network.

Any non-damaged Foxhole can be upgraded into a Gun Nest.
