The Forward Base (Forward Operating Base, abbreviated FOB) is a Building that requires a Construction Vehicle to build and upgrade. Stockpile and Respawning is available at a FOB similar to how Static Bases (Town halls) operate. However, a FOB is significantly weaker in terms of health and base connection range compared to its stationary counterpart. Due to its ability to be built anywhere on the map, it is used as a forward staging point for offensive operations as well as defensively through the use of Defensive buildings.

Defensive buildings placed within a radius of 80m around the FOB have their AI activated and will engage enemies if the Small/Large Garrison upgrade is installed in the FOB (or even just the Provisional Garrison upgrade if player activity is high at the FOB).

All the soldiers in the same faction have the ability to see their respective FOB locations and level of upgrade.

Base Upgrades

Base Upgrades are slowly automatically unlocked over time in Forward Bases. Progression of an upgrade can be accelerated by voting for it in the menu of the Base you're currently using as respawn. Progression is also sped up by things like supplying the base and building structures.
Once the small garrison upgrade is unlocked, the Encampment can be upgraded to a Field Base (Tier 2) with a Construction Vehicle. Before upgrading to Outpost (Tier 3) the large garrison upgrade has to be unlocked.

Image Name Description
"BASE" Tree
Provisional Garrison Connects the base to nearby defensive structures (80m radius). Defensive structures will deactivate if player activity is too low.

Prevents nearby structure decay by consuming Garrison Supplies from the stockpile. Rate of consumption is 2 per hour per structure.

Required to upgrade Base to Tier 2.

Required to upgrade Base to Tier 3.

Husk

Forward Bases when destroyed leave behind a "husk", which retains unlocked Base Upgrades and Stockpile which can be claimed by the enemy faction, withstands roughly twice(?) the amount of damage before being permanently destroyed. All supplies are reduced by 50% and in case of the enemy rebuilding it, all the soldier supplies are gone. It was implemented in Update 0.17.

FoB Husk

Encampment

A temporary forward operating base. Players can spawn from here.
In-game description

Encampment is initial form of Forward Base. Encampment is very weak and can be destroyed by moderate gunfire, but provides all strategical advantages of a FOB. Encampments can be placed offensively (with enough supply of Basic Materials) to secure a pushed position by establishing a network of garrisoned defenses, barriers and Watch Towers.

Its orientation should be considered to ensure infantry access on one side while Transport Trucks can drive to it without running over players.

Field Base

The Field Base is the second tier of the Forward Base, greatly increased durability and will now prevent decay if stocked with garrison supplies. resembling a smaller version of the Port Base.

Outpost

The Outpost is final form of a Forward Base. It is heavily fortified against small arms fire and light explosives, also gains better garrison supplies efficiency. Players must utilize large numbers of heavy explosives like R.P.G.s, Satchel Charges, or sustained tank fire to destroy it.
