Unprocessed oil that can be refined into valuable fuel.
In-game description

Crude Oil is a raw resource that can only be obtained by through an Oil Well. It is refined into Petrol at a ratio of 3 to 1 at a Refinery. Unlike other raw resources, Crude Oil does not stack and each barrel fills up one inventory slot (similar to rifles in an inventory).

Contrary to what you might think, Crude Oil cannot be transported in a Resource Container, or in a Fuel Tanker, or in Atlas or Loadlugger resources Trucks. The most efficient way to transport Crude Oil is via standard truck (R-1 Hauler or Dunne Transport).

Tips[ | ]

When transporting Crude Oil in a standard truck, you can hold one Crude Oil barrel in your inventory (assuming you don't become over-encumbered), allowing you to transport up to 16 Crude Oil Barrels every trip.

An Oil Well can only hold 50 Crude Oil barrels at a time, but it is possible for them to hold more by storing some of them in the Oil Well's Inventory. This is useful if the Oil Well is at max capacity, and you want to constantly produce Crude Oil all the time. (this is beneficial depending on how far the Oil Well is to the nearest Refinery)

Trivia[ | ]

Crude Oil was removed and replaced with Oil in Update 1.50, officially known as "Inferno." This was a part of a major rework of Logistics, with the introduction of Facilities, which introduced more complex ways for refining raw resources and materials.
