Border bases are special world bases that spawn at fixed locations near Frontier Borders. They start unbuilt and must be claimed by pressing
E which instantly builds them. They start with Rifles, Rifle ammo, Soldier Supplies, Basic Materials, HE Grenades, Sticky Bombs, Shovels, and diesel cans, in amounts that vary depending on global population. The base is heavily armored and immune to machine gun fire.
There is usually one to three pairs of border bases on any given frontier border, one on each road that crosses the border between the two regions.
Border Bases allow you to build structures within a 40m radius around them despite being close to the border and they won't suffer from fast decay.
Defensive structures placed within a radius of 40m around the Border Base have their AI activated and will engage enemies if the player activity is high enough (Provisional Garrison upgrade needed). The "mirrored" border base in the adjacent region is not active and has no AI but will allow building structures within 40m as well.
You can deploy to Border Bases from Home Region, just like other World Bases.
If a border base is not destroyed it decays after 120 hours
Claiming a border base
You can claim border bases by pressing
E on them which automatically builds them for your faction. But you can only claim a border base when the following requirements are met:
- The border base just spawned in or has been destroyed approximately 45-60 minutes ago or more.
- The "mirrored" border base on your side is not claimed by the enemy.
- The region border is currently a frontier border.
Claiming a border base will also claim the mirrored border base on the other side. You can only use the border base on the enemy's side of the frontier border. The mirrored base on your side can't be used but prevents the enemy from claiming it.
The border bases you can claim show up as white icons on the map (ignoring the 45-60min cooldown). The ones you can't claim don't show up. If the white icon disappears it means the enemy claimed the pair.
The enemy having claimed a pair of border bases doesn't prevent you from claiming a different pair on the same frontier border.
Border bases spawn only when the border is a Frontier Border, which needs the following requirements:
- Regions A and B are adjacent and the border has at least one road.
- Colonial faction controls no Region Zone in Region A (i.e. controls no Town Base or Relic Base; other World Bases like Safe Houses and Keeps do not count)
- Warden faction controls at least one Region Zone in Region A.
- Warden faction controls no Region Zone in Region B.
- Colonial faction controls at least one Region Zone in Region B.
When these requirements are met, the border between the two regions becomes a frontier border and appear in red on the map. Pairs of border bases can then spawn unbuilt at fixed locations next to roads that cross the border.
After the region border is no longer a frontier border, the border bases still remain in place.
