A special base that spawns near Frontier borders, designed to help an invading force gain a foothold into a region. The base is built automatically when a player uses it (press
E) to claim it. It includes starter equipment (which varies depending on global population). The base is heavily armored and immune to machine gun fire. Once a border base is destroyed it cannot be claimed again for approximately 60 minutes.
When one region fully controlled by a faction (opposite faction owns no world bases in it) is adjacent to a region fully controlled by the opposite faction, border bases spawns on both sides of the border close to the roads. Border bases appear in pairs, one on each side of the border. One can only claim the border base that's in the region controlled by the enemy faction. Claiming a border base on one side of the border automatically prevents the "mirrored" border base on the other side from being claimed by the enemy. When destroyed a border base cannot be rebuilt for one hour.
Border Bases allow you to build structures within a 40m radius around them despite being close to the border and they won't suffer from fast decay.
Defensive structures placed within a radius of 40m around the Border Base have their AI activated and will engage enemies if the player activity is high enough (Provisional Garrison upgrade needed). The "mirrored" border base in the adjacent region is not active and has no AI but will allow building structures within 40m as well.
